I joined Serimax in January 2010 as a business school graduate supporting management and commercial teams in the EMEA/CIS region. Two years on and following the integration of Serimax into the Vallourec Group, I moved into a corporate role as Business Analyst for the group, and I now work with marketing, sales, operations, R&D, and management teams to develop the company’s strategic direction.

With a keen interest in the ultra-dynamic, high-risk oil and gas industry offering complex economic, technological, operational and societal challenges, the opportunity to kick-start a career as part of Serimax’s 800 strong multi-national enterprise was ideal.

Through its flexible, dynamic and multi-cultural business model, Serimax has provided me with invaluable experience across many functions, from business planning, strategic marketing and proposals development, to gaining a technical understanding of offshore field development, welding, pipelay methodologies and HSEQS systems.

After an MSc Marketing & Strategy and a BSc (Hons) Management from Warwick Business School, entering a specialist technology and engineering company has been extremely stimulating, and has provided a phenomenal learning curve. Above all, Serimax has provided the environment to develop the confidence required for continuous self-questioning and improvement. Being able to develop relationships based on trust and team work in achieving performance, has only made my job even more fulfilling and exciting, and provides real motivation to succeed.
