SERIMAX is currently working on the pipeline construction project with the biggest pipe outside diameter ever welded by SATURNAX automatic welding system: 80’’ < = > 2 meters diameter !

The automatic welding services for the project Rabigh-Jeddah/Makkah Al Mokarramah Water Transmission System started in November 2018 with the Contractor MAPA and final client SWCC (Saline Water Conversion Corporation). This project of drinking water transmission is one of the most important of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in terms of volume.

The project consists of the construction of two parallel pipelines 80’’OD, and with 165km length each. Up to two spreads of three automatic welding stations are in operations, each spread equipped with SATURNAX system.

At mid-April 2020, the initial project scope of 18,310 welds was almost executed. However, more than 5,000 welds have been added to the initial scope of work. Despite the difficult project configuration, MAPA and SERIMAX demonstrate a very high level of productivity efficiency thanks to the operational, technical knowledges and teamwork of experienced teams.

The best day recorded at 103 welds in a single shift ! Sky is the limit…
