Najihah, what does a typical day look like for you as an Estimating Engineer in the APAC region? 

My typical day always starts with some nutritional intake, this gives me the energy I need to be on top form in order to perform my main tasks of the day. Then I manage my to-do list and focus on the priorities for the week, although usually the priorities tend to be managed by the team, sometimes we must adjust to the company’s requests or last-minute updates and occasionally we need to change. But usually, we remain focused and can complete our tasks as we planned.

What is your main challenge?

Before our company went through the digital transformation, my main challenge used to be communicating with staff however now we have all the necessary IT tools in place, it’s never been easier. Communicating with various colleagues from all over the world, departments (logistics for example) and discussing with my managers really is a main part of my job. Digital Tools such as Sharepoint or Teams are really helpful & efficient, making my life and many others (I presume) so much easier.

What do you enjoy the most?

I enjoy learning and Serimax really offers me this opportunity. With the tenders being so technical, it’s excellent for me because I am always learning and noticing new things and with the teams’ knowledge, I can ask the necessary questions and get the responses instantly. I really am lucky.
