As an automatic and manual welding industry leader we have been renowned for our services and quality welding for almost 50 years and we are now pleased to be a part of the bid working to bring Scotland’s green energy ambitions to life through Cromarty firth and the highlands. Through our experience and hard-work we are part of a consortium of sixteen organisations who are closely collaborating to produce a competitive bid for #GreenFreeport status, which will be submitted to The Scottish Government and UK government on June 20th. The primary objective of Opportunity Cromarty Firth is to maximise local benefits from a pipeline of renewable energy projects that will create jobs, attract inward investment, research and development, as well as placing the Highlands at the forefront of the country’s commitment to becoming a net-zero economy. Boasting sheltered, deep water, and spanning 46 miles of coastline, Cromarty Firth is an excellent location to establish a Green Freeport. The region is steeped in industrial history, having supported North Sea energy activity since the 1970s, it is now playing a critical role in the renewable Offshore Wind sector. A Green Freeport in the Cromarty Firth would aid in the creation and security of a sustainable pipeline of supply chain opportunities in the development of low-carbon technology, as well as bringing significant revitalization to the Scottish Highlands and the creation high-quality jobs.
