Making the switch to Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO)...

as a preferred fuel source for Serimax NEU project based generators, the low carbon alternative to diesel

Serimax Ltd, Part of the Vallourec Group is proud to announce that we have switched to hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) in our project diesel generators. HVO is a renewable and sustainable fuel that can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90% compared to traditional diesel.

Making the switch is key to:

1. Reducing our carbon footprint

2. Raising our performance

3. Protecting our planet

This switch is part of our commitment to reducing our environmental impact and reducing our net emissions in line with global targets. We believe that HVO is a valuable tool for us and our clients that are looking to reduce their carbon footprint without having to invest in new or expensive equipment.

HVO is a drop-in fuel, meaning that it can be used in existing diesel generators without any modifications. This makes it a relatively easy and affordable way to switch to a more sustainable fuel source.

In addition to its environmental benefits, HVO also has several other advantages over traditional diesel. For example, HVO produces fewer emissions of particulate matter and nitrogen oxides, which can improve air quality. HVO is also non-toxic and biodegradable, making it a safer and more sustainable option for the environment.

HVO is often referred to as the ‘second generation diesel’ and we are pleased to be making this move in order to make simple changes that make a solid impact for a cleaner industry.

What are your thoughts on this change from Diesel to HVO?
We are excited to be one of the first companies in the industry to switch to HVO in our project-based diesel generators. We believe that this switch is a positive step forward for our company and for the environment. energy pipeline industry is experiencing significant changes.
